01 What the app stores

Your memos, and nothing else

Music Dawn stores the recordings you make, together with the details you add to them: titles, folders, favorites, and an optional location. That is the whole list. The app has no account system and collects no profile, usage, or advertising data.

02 Where it lives

On your device, and in your own iCloud

Everything is stored on your device first. If iCloud sync is enabled, your memos also sync through your own Apple account to your private iCloud database, so they follow you across your devices.

That iCloud storage belongs to you, not to us. We cannot read, access, or recover your recordings. They never pass through any server we operate, because we do not operate any.

03 Microphone

Recording happens only when you start it

The app uses the microphone for one purpose: recording your memos. Nothing is recorded until you start a recording, and audio is never analyzed or transmitted anywhere off your device.

04 Location

Optional, and only ever attached to a memo

You can let Music Dawn tag each memo with the place where you recorded it. This is optional and asks for your permission first. The location is saved with the memo itself and is used for nothing else. Decline the permission and the app works exactly the same, without the tags.

05 Tracking

None

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no trackers. It sends us nothing. It works fully offline; an internet connection is only used by iCloud sync, which Apple provides and which stays inside your own account.

06 Deleting your data

You are always one step from empty

Delete any memo in the app. Deleted memos sit in Recently Deleted for a while so you can restore mistakes, and you can remove them permanently there at any time. Deleting the app removes its data from your device, and your iCloud data can be managed from your device's iCloud settings.

07 Changes

If this policy changes, this page changes

If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and its date before the change ships.
