Privacy Policy
We never see your notes.
Beyond Notes has no account, no server of ours and no analytics. This page says where your notes are kept and what the app does with them. Last updated October 14, 2026.
What we collect
Nothing. The app sends nothing to us, and we run no server it could send to. We cannot read your notes, your tags or how you use the app.
Where your notes live
Each note is a Markdown file. With iCloud Drive on, the files are kept in a Beyond Notes folder in your own iCloud Drive, and Apple syncs them between your devices under your Apple Account. With iCloud off, they are kept on the device. Settings such as tag icons and pinned notes are kept in a small file in the same folder. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Photos you add
An image you drop or paste into a note is saved as a file in the Attachments folder next to your notes. The app asks for no access to your photo library.
Tracking and advertising
There is none. The app has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking identifiers and no third-party code. On the App Store its privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
Deleting your notes
Move a note to the trash in the app and it is deleted for good after thirty days, or right away if you empty the trash. You can also delete the files in Files or Finder. Deleting the app does not delete your notes from iCloud Drive.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If the way the app handles data ever changes, this page and its date change before the app does.
