Send recordings out

Share a recording with a bandmate, save it to Files or send it to another audio app. Music Dawn prepares a file from the saved trim and the active effects, then opens the system share sheet.

Share a recording

Open a recording, tap the ellipsis button, More actions, and choose Share. When the file is ready, choose a destination such as AirDrop, Messages, Mail or Save to Files from the system share sheet. Available destinations depend on your device and installed apps.

The steps are the same in the iPad recording detail view. Share Watch recordings from your iPhone or iPad library after they arrive.

Send the shaped sound

Leave the effects you want ON and save any trim before sharing. Music Dawn renders that selection through the active chain, including the endings of reverbs and delays, into a 24-bit stereo WAV file. The sample rate follows the source recording.

The BYPASSED switch beside FX Chain is only a playback comparison: Share still uses the saved chain. Turn individual cards OFF or remove them to leave their effects out of the file.

Match Volume is a listening aid, rather than an export loudness setting. Master's TARGET determines the loudness of the shared file when Master is active.

Send the original audio

To share an unchanged copy, restore the full recording in Edit and turn every effect card OFF or remove every effect. With no saved trim and no active effects, Share copies the source file without rendering or changing its format.

There is no separate original/rendered choice in the share menu. Turning effects off while keeping a trim still produces a WAV of the selected section. Restoring boundaries and changing cards also changes the recording's saved playback settings.

Check what needs Pro

Sharing an unprocessed recording or a recording using the free chain is free. Sharing a chain with Pro effects, changed Advanced controls, a different reverb space or a reordered chain needs Pro.

This check uses the stored chain, including effects that are OFF. If you no longer have Pro and an older recording has a Pro chain, apply Singer-Songwriter from Presets to return to the free sound before sharing. Bypassing the chain does not remove the Pro requirement.

Questions

Will someone else hear my effects without Music Dawn?

Yes. When you share a recording with active effects, Music Dawn writes their sound into the exported WAV. The recipient needs only an app that plays WAV files.

Can I choose MP3 or M4A for export?

There is no format picker. A trimmed or processed export is a 24-bit WAV; a full recording with no active effects keeps its source format, such as M4A.

Why does my shared file still have effects when playback is bypassed?

The whole-chain BYPASSED switch affects listening only. Share uses each card's saved ON or OFF state, so turn the cards OFF to export without their sound.

Does exporting change the recording in my library?

No. Export creates a separate file and leaves the original audio intact. Changes you make to trim or effect settings before sharing remain saved on the recording.
